Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
For children under 6 we provide care, development and education to the standards set out by the government in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework 2008.
The EYFS standards describe the legal, care and education requirements which all Early Years settings are expected to follow. Every EYFS provider is governed by these rules and guidelines. This includes: registered childminders; private nurseries; local authority nurseries; primary school nursery classes; primary school reception classes; private school nursery classes; and private school reception classes.
All early years settings are inspected regularly by the Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted) and graded on the quality of their work.
At our last two inspections, in 2009 and 2015, we were awarded Ofsted's 'Outstanding’ grade in all categories, which means every aspect of our work is of exceptionally high quality.
EYFS gives you the reassurance that whichever choice you make for your child, the setting must operate to the standards and its grade indicates how well it does so. This leaves you free to choose the most suitable setting for your child based on their age, ability, aptitude, personality, temperament and needs.
